Buying a new bike "on the road" will usually come
with tax but this might not always be the case.

Finally, no more queuing at the post office - you can now tax your bike online.
Online tax service
It is a legal requirement to have a valid tax disc and to
have it displayed on the bike whenever it's on the road.
The
government are cracking down on vehicle tax and bikes get
checked regularly.
You can get your tax disc from the Post Office with a cheque
and on presentation of the bike's registration document
("log
book"), insurance certificate or cover note and M.O.T
certificate if the bike is more than three years old.
